A lot has happened since I last blogged, but honestly I have been too tired to even think about combining words into a meaningful post. The absolute hardest part about being a mom so far has been sleep. When Rhyder was a tiny baby, he slept like a champ. That has all changed. He's an awful sleeper. About 2:30 in the morning, he starts his wake up routine. Sometimes he'll awake every hour and sometimes its every two hours, but either way, its usually 5-12 times a night. He goes down at night very easily, but then when he awakens, sometimes its a pacifier and he's good, and sometimes it turns into a 30 minute battle. Sometimes, I have to leave him for stretches of time to cry and scream just to wear himself out. Obviously, its draining and I have just been in survival mode. With Derrick being gone 4 days a week and home 3, its hard to have him help much because he doesn't have a chance to learn "what works." Anyway, I love being Rhyder's mom with my whole heart, but I honestly can't wait til he settles into a good sleep routine.
Let's see...what has all happened.
For Valentines Day, Derrick got home around 8pm so I had me and Rhyder ready for our quick but fun Valentines date. We live about 2 miles from the Hullabaloo Diner in Wellborn. We had never eaten there before but it looked and sounded fun so we had dinner there.

On St Patrick's Day, we were invited to an Aggie baseball game by our great neighbors and new friends. They have a lil boy who just turned 1. (we know Rhyder and Harris will be big buds someday) :)

Rhyder had his 4 month old doctor's appointment. He's really into his reflection in mirrors and was being very cute waiting for the doctor. Let's just say Momma hates shots more than Rhy.

Derrick has been looking for a while for an F-150. He was driving a Dodge Diesel MegaCab and even though we used the hound of out it (especially when we moved ourselves from Oregon to Texas pulling a 36' enclosed trailer with our entire lives in it), we decided he needed to downsize. For one, he's driving so stinkin' much for work and diesel is so expensive and for two, the Dodge was just too big for College Station living and traveling in Houston which he does a lot for work. So, he'd been looking for the right F-150 for a long time and finally found it. It had 48,000 miles on it and is a 2010. We were a little freaked out by red, but now we love it and it was a great switch.

Found it in Manor, Texas (outside of Austin) |
My best friend had a little baby girl, Rilyn, 7 weeks after Rhyder was born. We've had great fun hanging out with them, watching our lil ones grow together. They like each other :)

ooooh....she's pretty :) |
We have a really pretty pond in our subdivision and we decided to enjoy it one evening with a little training session with Shooter. So very pleasant - we'll be doing that more often!
Rhyder had his first 4 wheeler ride in Boyd!
Rhyder has now had rice cereal, sweet potatoes, acorn squash, peas, and apple cinnamon oatmeal successfully; however, my son does NOT like bananas :) Like momma, like son. I got nauseous watching him try to eat them. Ha! He was so very disgusted.
Our son is 4 months old!
